Spinning my wheels

It took me all day to finish up 5 manga reviews that I've been working on since the week before Christmas. I haven't put up a podcast in over a week, and although I had a couple shows nearly finished and ready to go it took me until like 10pm to do that. Nothin' like doing your homework at 10pm on a Sunday, right?

Lately I've been super-distracted because N. and I have to move and have been looking at apartments all week. It frigging sucks looking at apartments. Since I'll probably get a comment saying "Why do you have to move?" let's review:

Q. Why do you have to move?

A. Johan and his girlfriend want to live alone together for once, with no roommates. N. and I only have to be out by April or so, but we want to live with my brother Matt as a roommate, and he has to move by February, so we might as well get started.

Q. So where are you moving to?

A. Park Slope.

Q. Why Park Slope?

A. We want to be Park Slope yuppies. Well, not really, but Park Slope has many attractions, such as 75% of my friends living there, a commute no longer than my current commute (shorter for N.), 98% of all my coworkers seem to live there, it's near a gigantic park (Prospect Park), and there are restaurants that deliver, gourmet grocery stores, and places to eat brunch there. Also we've started calling it "Slark Pope".

Q. You've said before that your job ends in August. What's up with that?

A. Unless the show I work on gets renewed for a 7th season, I'll be unemployed come the end of August or so. I work in television, and no TV show lasts forever.

Q. Can't you just work on something else at the same company?

A. I could and most likely will end up working with the same company on other projects at some time or another. But once the show I'm on now ends my unique position is essentially eliminated.

These last two questions have nothing to do with moving, but I know I'm going to have to explain them again to Dorkart as well as other people and new friends.

Anyway my point is, we put in an application for a very swanky and ideal apartment yesterday, and I hope we get it, because I'm sick of looking at places. They're always either too expensive, or further away than I'd like, or all the windows look onto a narrow alleyway filled with garbage or else they're a railroad apartment not suitable for three people or else it's actually the perfect apartment but the lesbian landlords don't want to rent to three people.
